Check-in was quick—just a quick stop at the agency office across from the bakery (the one with the red awning, you can’t miss it)—and the host handed over the keys like she’d known me for years.

It’s a 3-star spot, so don’t expect marble bathrooms or a concierge, but it’s got that cozy, lived-in alpine vibe that actually feels more welcoming. The apartment’s small—just a studio setup—but smartly laid out. The bed faces the windows, so first thing in the morning you wake up to snow-laden pine trees and that crisp mountain light. There’s a little kitchenette (I made coffee and toast most mornings—saved a fortune on croissants, though the boulangerie down the path is worth the splurge). The shower’s compact, yeah, and the water pressure’s *fine*—not spa-level, but gets the job done after a long day on the slopes. And the best part? Dead quiet at night. You hear the occasional crunch of snow under boots or a distant snowcat, but no traffic, no music—just that deep, muffled silence only high-altitude villages have.

La Tania itself gets overlooked for Courchevel 1850, but that’s kind of the point. It’s quieter, cheaper, and still gives you direct access to the whole Three Valleys. I skied over to Courchevel Le Praz one afternoon just to grab a drink at that little apres-ski bar by the ice rink—felt like a local secret. Parking’s in the underground lot beneath Grand Bois—just big enough for a compact car, and you’ll want to book it early if you’re driving during peak weeks. Honestly, if you’re looking for luxury, this isn’t it. But if you want a warm, no-fuss base that puts you *on* the mountain—where you can pop back between runs for a quick warm-up or leave your gear drying by the heater—this place nails it. I’d stay here again in a heartbeat. Especially if they’ve fixed that one drawer in the nightstand—it sticks, but, well, that’s part of the charm now, I guess.

  Das Appartement ist grundsätzlich gut gelegen, vorallem im Winter ist es sicherlich ein Highlight.
  
  What could be improved: Leider hat einiges nicht gepasst während unserem Aufenthalt. Wir haben keine Informationen zur Anreise, dem Parkplatz, der Schlüsselübergabe etc. erhalten, erst als wir den Gastgeber (welcher nur gebrochen Englisch kann) anriefen hat uns dieser die Sachen zugeschickt. Weiter ist das Appartement, obwohl auf den ersten Blick sehr hübsch, nur sehr dürftig ausgestattet. Es hat ein Bett (Grösse 1.40×1.90), welches an und für sich schon klein ist und in einer kleinen "Abstellkammer" steht. Da wir zu viert waren, mussten wir das "Schlafsofa" auch noch gebrauchen. Dieses war leider wahnsinnig unbequem. Alles in allem ist das Appartement sehr klein, ich würde es vermutlich nicht an vier Personen vermieten. Die Parkplätze sind doch ein ganzes Stück entfernt, was mit viel Gepäck sehr unpraktisch ist. Auch kleine Sachen wie beispielsweise Toilettenpapier haben gefehlt, was natürlich sehr ärgerlich ist und wovon wir nichts wussten.
