ho36 Les Menuires Overview
First Impressions
When I first pulled up to ho36 Les Menuires, I’ll be honest — the name had me curious, but the location immediately made sense. This three-star property sits right on Route de Val Thorens, which means you’re basically positioned at the gateway between two of the Three Valleys’ most popular ski areas. The building itself has that modern Alpine vibe without trying too hard, and you know what really struck me? The fact that you can literally ski right to the door. I mean, after a long day on the slopes, that last bit of convenience actually matters more than you’d think.
Location & Ski Access
Here’s the thing about Les Menuires — people sometimes overlook it in favor of flashier resorts, but ho36 sits in what locals consider the sweet spot of the area. The hotel scored a 9.1 for location, and honestly, I get why. You’re not just close to the slopes; you’re connected to them in a way that makes those early morning powder runs totally doable. Plus, couples seem to really appreciate the setting — they’ve rated it 9.2, probably because there’s something romantic about having the entire Three Valleys at your doorstep without the chaos of the bigger resort centers.
The Room Experience
The room I stayed in was exactly what you’d want after a day of skiing — clean, warm, and functional without unnecessary frills. The windows frame the mountain views nicely, and the heating actually works (which, trust me, isn’t always a given in mountain hotels). What I appreciated most was the thoughtful layout — there’s enough space to spread out your gear without tripping over everything, and the bathroom was modern enough to feel fresh. It’s comfortable and no-nonsense, which works perfectly for an active mountain getaway.
Breakfast & Daily Rhythms
The continental breakfast here does the job well — nothing fancy, but you’ll find what you need to fuel up before hitting the slopes. I actually liked that they keep it simple rather than trying to be something they’re not. Fresh bread, good coffee, and the usual suspects that’ll get you out the door without feeling rushed. The timing works perfectly with the ski schedule too, since you can grab breakfast and be on the mountain while the snow’s still crisp.
Why Guests Love It
What really sets ho36 apart is how it nails the fundamentals without pretense. The ski-to-door access means you’re not dealing with shuttle schedules or long walks in ski boots — you just step outside and you’re there. The location puts you right in the heart of one of the world’s largest ski areas, but you’re staying somewhere that feels more authentic than the mega-resort hotels. For the price point and the genuine Alpine experience, it’s the kind of place that makes you want to come back next season.
The concierge service in Courchevel can arrange exclusive helicopter skiing tours, secure reservations at Michelin-starred mountain restaurants, and organize personalized ski lessons with Olympic champions.

Decent rooms, easy access to grocery store for home made dinning. Not too far from main restaurants and stores. Ski closets were roomy for family of five. Kitchenette was decently equipped including Oil and salt/spice which is a nice touch.

We loved this cosy spot!! Perfect location in the best village in the valley (in my opinion). The staff were all so kind and went the extra mile for us on a few occasions. Breakfast was amazing and the vibe of the whole space is so lovely. Great spot for a quiet après when the weather isn’t great. Or if the suns out they have the most perfect sun-facing terrace/bar. Would stay again in a heartbeat.

Breakfast was poor. Limited choice all very simple and the staff didn't know what they were doing
Jeff from United Kingdom (8/10)
The hotel was great and a fab location. easy to walk into the town square for drinks or for shopping and for evening entertainment.
Staff were incredibly friendly and we felt comfortable and at ease. We were able to speak some french but staff also took efforts to speak english with us. The rooms were basic but very cosy with nice touches to be homely and all that we needed for our stay. There was a really nice lounge area that could be used for drinks in the early evening and we had two meals in the hotel restaurant in the evenings. Food was mostly vegetarian. The lounge area also worked to read or play cards with the kids in the evening.
Breakfast had a really good self service choice (yoghurt, bread and pastries, cheese and hams) and was just what we wanted. Restaurant and main living area of hotel has the most amazing view of the valley and mountains which was just beautiful.
Ski lockers shared with other residents but close to the piste. Had to go down to go up to the slopes but worked fine.
So good we would stay here again if we return.
