Hôtel L’Aigle du Montana by Les Etincelles Overview
First Impressions
Walking into Hôtel L’Aigle du Montana by Les Etincelles, you immediately get that cozy Alpine vibe that makes Tignes such a special place to stay. The lobby has this warm, mountain lodge feel — think exposed wood beams and that perfect après-ski atmosphere without being too rustic. What really caught my attention was how the staff genuinely seemed to know the area inside and out, offering tips about the best runs and local spots that you won’t find in guidebooks.
Location & Ski Access
Honestly, the location is what sets this four-star hotel apart from everything else in the area. You’re literally steps away from the slopes — I mean, the ski-to-door access isn’t just marketing speak here. After a long day on the mountain, you can practically glide right back to your room without dealing with shuttle buses or long walks in ski boots. The couples who stay here absolutely love it (they rate the location 8.8, which makes total sense), and I can see why — there’s something romantic about having the entire Tignes ski area as your backyard.
The Room Experience
The rooms strike that perfect balance between Alpine charm and modern comfort. You know what I appreciated most? The attention to detail — proper blackout curtains for those bright mountain mornings, heated bathroom floors (trust me, this matters after a day in the cold), and windows that actually frame the mountain views instead of just offering glimpses. The décor feels authentically French Alpine without going overboard with the whole chalet theme. Storage space is well thought out too, which anyone who’s traveled with ski gear will appreciate.
Breakfast & Dining
The breakfast setup here is actually impressive — they do both continental and buffet options, so whether you’re grabbing a quick coffee and croissant before first tracks or settling in for a proper mountain breakfast, you’re covered. The buffet has local specialties alongside the usual suspects, and the coffee is strong enough to wake you up for those early powder days. I particularly liked that they understand skiers’ schedules — breakfast starts early and runs late enough for those who prefer leisurely mornings.
Why Guests Love It
What really makes this place work is how it handles the practical stuff without sacrificing the experience. The parking situation is sorted (private spots at the hotel), which eliminates one of those annoying vacation logistics. The recent guest ratings speak for themselves — 8.4 overall and 8.7 for location — and after staying here, those numbers feel right. It’s the kind of place where everything just flows smoothly, from checking in to getting on the mountain to unwinding afterward. The Les Etincelles group clearly knows what they’re doing in the Alps, and this property shows that expertise in all the small details that add up to a really solid ski vacation base.

The breakfast was excellent, lots of selections. lots of fresh fruits I really like.
I had half board, dinner was at the other 4* hotel 2 minute walk. Beautiful high end restaurant, had cheese bar, 2 dessert bars, gourmet dinner every night with different menu. Best dinners!
The ski in ski out is little misleading. You could ski in but not really ski out. Some walk but not bad.
The room is very small. I booked 30 days prior at full price, was too expensive for the size of room. Later they offered 40% discount on booking.com to fill the rooms, booking.com honored it so it was a great deal for me.
Front desk Maria was so helpful! The previous guest smoked in my room, smelled awful. She went everywhere to look for air re freshener for me. She helped me in everything. Thank you Maria!Chris from United Kingdom (9/10)
Pretty, well kept, comfortable room, great views, nice staff. Excellent breakfast.

The variety of resturants for dinner (included in half board), nice balcony with the mountain view. Ski in and ski out. Decent spa! Steam and sauna were great. Indoor secure parking.

Great choice for breakfast. The staff were exceptionally friendly and welcoming.
Clive from United Kingdom (9/10)
Breakfast was excellent. Choice of hot food, bacon & egg or french style, various breads, pastries, fruit, cold buffet, fruit salad, yoghurt etc… The location was superb in the Village Montana 2 mins walk from Blue run into the Palafour lift and 5 mins walk from the centre. Facilities include spa, pool, small bar area which we didn't use but looked okay. Garage was a bonus as we hired a car from Geneva Airport.

Breakfast was very good. The Hotel is small as is the restaurant and so all worked really well. The staff were really attentive and things such as scrambled egg trays, orange/apple juice, etc were refilled instantly. The reception staff were friendly and helpful. Rooms cleaned daily including towels! Pool water was a bit tepid but we had it to ourselves, sauna was a good size and hot. Towels are supplied within the pool area.

The breakfast was very good. The staff were super friendly and helpful. We loved the hotel's location, a short walk and then ski down to the lifts, and close to restaurants. Hotel amenities (pool, sauna, ski room) were great.
