The pool’s actually heated to that perfect “you don’t want to get out” temperature, and the hammam? Absolute game-changer after a long day on the slopes. I went down around 9 p.m.—most places are packed then, but here, it was just me and the sound of snow falling on the deck. The sauna’s small but legit, and they leave fresh towels and slippers like clockwork. Rooms are spread across the chalet in a way that feels private—mine was on the lower level, opened to a little stone terrace (I sipped espresso out there at 7 a.m. while watching the ski patrol head up the mountain). Breakfast is served late enough that you don’t feel rushed (they do this amazing homemade brioche with local honey), and the staff? French, yes, but zero pretension. One guy helped me stash my boots in the heated storage room—no valet nonsense, just practical and kind.

It’s not “luxury” in the glossy brochure sense. It’s luxury in the way your favorite sweater is—comfortable, lived-in, but clearly well-made. Wi-Fi works well, which surprised me (I checked emails from the reading nook by the fireplace—big plus). Parking’s tight if you’re driving, but they’ve got a spot reserved and the guy who manages it speaks decent English (rare up here). I stayed in February—peak season—but because the chalet’s small (only eight suites, I think?), it never felt crowded. And no noise. Not even a creak from above. If you’re the type who wants buzzy après-ski, this isn’t your spot. But if you want to come back from skiing the Vanoise peaks, melt into a hot tub under the stars, and fall asleep to silence? Yeah.
