Odalys Hotel New Solarium Overview
Honestly, when I first pulled up to Odalys Hotel New Solarium, I wasn’t sure what to expect—Courchevel’s got that split personality, you know? The glitzy side with the private jets and fur coats, and then these little tucked-away spots that feel like they’ve been there forever. This place is definitely the latter. Tucked just off Rue Emile Allais, a quiet stretch that slopes down toward the quieter part of town, it’s not on the main drag but still, you’re, what, five minutes on foot from the Jardin Alpin lift. And that’s kind of perfect—close enough to ski-in/ski-out without the circus.
It’s not flashy. There’s no five-star stamp, and honestly, it doesn’t pretend to be. But that’s what I liked about it. The lobby smells like old wood and fresh coffee—someone’s always brewing a pot near the front desk, and the staff remember your name by day two. My room was up on the third floor, small but smart, with these thick wool blankets that actually kept me warm even when the wind howled down from the north face (which it did, one night around 2 a.m.—fair warning, the windows aren’t double-paned everywhere). The bathroom’s dated, sure, but the shower pressure? Killer. And the view—oh, the view. Straight out over the valley, snow-laden trees below, and if you wake up early, you catch the sunrise hitting the peaks just right, all pink and gold.
Breakfast is served in this cozy nook by the fireplace—simple but good. Fresh croissants from the boulangerie down the street (not the fancy one near the casino, the small one with the red awning—ask for Marie, she’ll wink at you), local cheeses, and real jam. There’s no spa or pool, which I’ll admit took some getting used to—but there’s a tiny sauna in the basement, and honestly, after a day on the slopes, it’s all you need. Parking’s tight, and you’ll want to book a spot ahead if you’re driving (there’s a municipal lot around the corner on Rue du Plein Sud—€22 a day, but it’s covered).
Look, it’s not for everyone. If you want champagne at check-in and a personal concierge who books your heli-skiing, go somewhere else. But if you want a place that feels like *Courchevel*, not a glossy brochure version of it—this one’s got soul. I’d come back. Probably in late March, when the crowds thin and the light stays longer. You can actually hear the village breathe then.
To book a hotel in Courchevel during the famous winter ski season, visitors should make reservations well in advance as the resort attracts luxury ski enthusiasts and alpine sports lovers from around the world.

Reviews of Odalys Hotel New Solarium
A very dated placed saved by the wonderful hospitality from the ski locker staffs. – Linda from United States – 11 April 2025 (7/10)
In one of the most exclusive ski resort town in the world, this hotel is a relative bargain. But you know why once you check in. The hotel has seen its glorious days and definitely shouting for a complete renovation. There are still several pluses. The location is nice, walk to ski lift across the street. The breakfast room has beautiful views. The best part is the staff in the ski locker room. They put on and take off your ski boots every time! A rare lux treatment, rarely offered at even the most pampering resorts. 10/10 for the ski locker staffs!

The location is unbeatable. Ski in Ski out and a ski shop on site. Good value and have all basic amenities. Rooms are comfortable.
What could be improved: They just don’t pay attention to details and are comfortable at being a 3 star hotel. Wifi is non existent. Towels are non absorbent. Breakfast could be better. Could provide free water at ski shop or at lobby. No one helps with the luggages
