Résidence Pierre & Vacances Premium Les Alpages de Chantel Overview
First Impressions
The Résidence Pierre & Vacances Premium Les Alpages de Chantel sits right in the heart of Arc 1800, and honestly, the location alone makes this four-star property worth considering. When I first pulled up, I was struck by how the building blends into the alpine landscape — it’s got that classic Savoyard architecture that feels authentically French mountain resort without being too rustic. The ski-to-door access isn’t just marketing speak either; you literally step out and you’re on the slopes, which is pretty incredible when you’re dealing with heavy ski gear.
The Apartment Experience
What really sets this place apart is the apartment setup rather than traditional hotel rooms. Each unit comes with a proper kitchen, which I found surprisingly well-equipped — not just a mini-fridge and microwave situation. You know what’s great about this? After a long day on the mountain, you can actually cook a decent meal instead of being forced into expensive resort dining every night. The living spaces feel genuinely livable, not like those cramped hotel suites where you’re tripping over furniture. The mountain views from most units are spectacular, especially if you snag one facing the Vanoise peaks.
Location and Ski Access
Arc 1800 itself is part of the massive Paradiski domain, so you’ve got access to over 400 kilometers of slopes between Les Arcs and La Plagne. The residence’s position means you can ski right back to your door at the end of the day — no shuttle buses or long walks with all your gear. I mean, there’s something pretty satisfying about being able to pop back to your room for lunch or a quick break without the usual resort hassle. The Chantel area is actually one of the more peaceful parts of Arc 1800, away from the main pedestrian zones but still close enough to walk to shops and restaurants.
Practical Perks
The parking situation deserves a mention because, let’s be honest, finding a spot in ski resorts can be a nightmare. Here you get private parking on-site, which is included and actually makes arriving stress-free. The building also has a spa area with a sauna — nothing fancy, but after hours of skiing, it hits the spot perfectly. What I appreciated most was how the staff seemed to understand that guests are here for extended stays, not just overnight stops, so they’re helpful with practical stuff like grocery delivery and equipment storage.
Why Guests Love It
Couples particularly seem drawn to this place, and I can see why — there’s something romantic about having your own mountain retreat rather than just a hotel restaurant and lobby scene. The apartments give you space to actually relax together without feeling like you’re living on top of each other. Recent guests have been rating the location at 9.0 out of 10, which honestly reflects what you experience here. It’s that sweet spot where you’re right in the action for skiing but can retreat to something that feels more like a home base than a typical resort stay.

Sara from France (7/10)
The location of the residence is ideal with easy ski in and out and plenty of amenities nearby. The staff are very friendly, professional and try their best to be helpful. Pool area is very nice, family friendly and well maintained; pool water temperature was warm and comfortable. The indoor parking is very comfortable with easy access and assigned parking spots which is a huge bonus, but very expensive. The area is calm and comfortable with phenomenal views.

Ridge from Australia (7/10)
The location of the property was excellent, the pool was fantastic and staff very helpful. Bit of a walk up and down stairs to get to the ski locker instead of just being able to walk through but that was just the location of the room we were in down the stairs right on the slopes in 2B. It would have been ski-in-ski-out apart from the fact that you have to go to the ski room. Overall a very nice stay.
