Woke up one morning to fresh snow falling, silent and thick, and it felt like being inside a snow globe.

The building’s older—like, early ’80s old—but they’ve kept it clean. The wooden paneling’s a little dated (I mean, it’s not winning any design awards), but there’s something cozy about it. You can smell the wood and the faintest hint of ski wax in the hallway—probably from all the guests coming back from the slopes. And speaking of which: the location is low-key genius. You’re not right on the piste, but you’re close enough that you can shuffle over in your ski boots without freezing. There’s a little covered bike/ski storage downstairs—super handy—and the check-in was a breeze. The guy at the desk, Thomas, gave me the key and a quick run-down in French, then switched to decent English when he heard my accent. Friendly, no fuss.

Now, it’s not luxurious. The shower’s got decent pressure, but the tiles in the bathroom are cracked in one corner. And yeah, it gets a bit noisy around 8 a.m. when people are heading out—boots clomping, kids whining about gloves—but honestly, that’s Courchevel in winter. You kind of expect it. I stayed in January, low season, and had the place mostly to myself. If you’re coming during Christmas week or February half-term, book early—these studios fill up fast, especially at this price point.

Bottom line? If you want a no-frills, no-attitude spot where you can crash after a day on the mountain, this one’s solid. It’s not flashy, but it’s real. And sometimes that’s exactly what you need when you’re tired, snow-covered, and just want a warm bed and a view that doesn’t suck.
